# Lists and sharing

Choose what shoppers can do with their wishlists under **Settings → Features**. Every feature is free.

| Feature | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Guest wishlists** | Shoppers can save products without an account. | On |
| **Multiple lists** | Shoppers can create named lists. | Off |
| **Sharing** | Shoppers can share a read-only link to a list. | On |
| **Save for later** | Adds a button to cart items that moves them to a saved for later list. | Off |
| **Collaborators** | Customers can invite others to add to a list. Needs multiple lists. | Off |

## Guest wishlists

With **Guest wishlists** on, anyone can save products. The list is kept for that browser. When the shopper signs in, their guest list moves to their customer account, so it follows them to other devices. The wishlist reminds guests to sign in to keep their list.

With it off, clicking the save button asks the shopper to log in.

Guest lists are deleted after a period without activity, 60 days by default. Change it under **Settings → General → Keep guest wishlists for** (7–365 days). Activity means saving a product or creating a list; only viewing the list doesn't count. Customer lists are kept as long as the app is installed.

Safari can clear a guest's browser storage sooner. See [Limitations](https://wishlist.themivo.com/docs/limitations#guest-lists-on-safari).

## Multiple lists

With **Multiple lists** on, the wishlist shows a tab for each list with its item count. Shoppers can:

- create a list with **New list** and give it a name
- rename or delete their lists (the first list can't be deleted)
- move a product to another list with **Move to…**

The save button on product pages and cards always saves to the shopper's first list. Shoppers can move items afterwards.

## Sharing

With **Sharing** on and **Show share button** on under **Appearance → Wishlist**, the owner of a list with items can click **Share**. On phones this opens the share sheet; on desktop the link is copied. If **Share confirmation** is on under **Notifications**, the shopper also gets the link by email.

The link opens your [wishlist page](https://wishlist.themivo.com/docs/appearance#wishlist-view). Visitors see the list as read-only, with the first name of the owner, and can add products to their own cart. They can't remove anything.

A list keeps the same link every time it's shared. To turn off every shared link at once, turn off **Sharing**.

## Collaborators

With **Collaborators** on, a signed-in customer can click **Invite to edit** to copy an invite link. The link works once and expires after 7 days. The person who opens it signs in and clicks **Join this list**.

Collaborators can add and remove products. They can't rename, delete or share the list, and they can leave it with **Leave list**.

## Save for later

With **Save for later** on, every item in the cart gets a **Save for later** button. It moves the item from the cart to a list named "Saved for later". On the cart page, that list shows below the cart with a **Move to cart** button on each item.

Saved for later items aren't counted in the header icon. For guests, it needs **Guest wishlists** to be on.

If the button doesn't show on your cart, check the **Cart item** selector under **Appearance → Advanced**.

## Limits

| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Lists per shopper, including saved for later | 20 |
| Items per list | 500 |
| List name | 80 characters |

When a guest signs in, their items are added to the customer's lists up to these limits.
