# Omnisend

Send wishlist alerts to Omnisend as custom events, then build automations and design the emails in Omnisend.

## Connect Omnisend

1. In Omnisend, open **Store settings → API keys** and create an API key with write access to events.
2. In the app, open **Notifications → Integrations**.
3. Turn on **Send events to Omnisend** and paste the key in **Omnisend API key**.
4. Save.

The key isn't checked when you save. Once saved, the field stays empty; leave it blank to keep the key.

Turn on the alerts you want under **Notifications → Alerts**. Only alerts that are on are sent to Omnisend. To send through Omnisend only, turn off **Send emails** under **Notifications → Email**.

## Events

Each alert is recorded as a custom event on the contact in Omnisend, matched by email. Omnisend creates the contact if it doesn't exist yet.

An event shows up in Omnisend after it's sent for the first time. To start an automation with it sooner, send yourself an alert: for example, save a product, then lower its price. Then, in Omnisend, create an automation that starts on **Custom event** and pick the event.

## Event properties

Every event has the same values as the [email placeholders](https://wishlist.themivo.com/docs/notifications#email-templates), so you can use them in Omnisend emails:

`shop_name`, `first_name`, `product_title`, `variant_title`, `product_url`, `product_image`, `old_price`, `new_price`, `quantity`, `item_count`, `wishlist_url`, `share_url`, `unsubscribe_url`

It also has:

| `product_id`, `variant_id` | Shopify IDs of the product and variant. |
| `list_id` | The wishlist ID. |
| `currency` | Currency code of the prices. |
| `old_price_amount`, `new_price_amount` | Prices as numbers, such as `12.50`, for conditions and splits. |

## Rules

Omnisend events follow the same rules as emails:

- Signed-in customers only, and price drop, low stock and reminders need email marketing consent in Shopify.
- **Don't repeat an alert within** and **Daily email limit** apply. Each event counts toward the daily limit, even when **Send emails** is off.
- Customers who unsubscribed from wishlist emails get no events.

When email, Klaviyo and Omnisend are on together, the **Log** shows one row for all of them. The row is **Sent** if any channel worked.
