# Translations

All text that shoppers see in the wishlist can be changed and translated under **Settings → Translations**: button labels, the drawer and page, toasts and messages.

## Edit text

1. Pick a **Language**. The list shows your store's languages, including unpublished ones.
2. Find a text by its key or its English wording with **Filter**.
3. Type your text. Leave a field blank to use the default.
4. Save.

Keep placeholders such as `{count}` or `{name}` as they are. They are replaced with the real value on the storefront.

You can also change the English text this way, for example to say "Favorites" instead of "Wishlist".

## Translate with a spreadsheet

Click **Export CSV** to download the texts for the selected language. The file has three columns: `key`, `english` and `translation`. Fill in the `translation` column, then click **Import CSV** with the same language selected.

## Which language shoppers see

The storefront uses the language of the page the shopper is on. It looks for, in order:

1. the exact language, such as `fr-CA`
2. the base language, such as `fr`
3. English

Product titles, prices and availability in the wishlist come from Shopify in the shopper's language and country, so Shopify Translate & Adapt and Markets apply as usual.

## Not covered here

- **Email alerts** have one template each. Edit the text under **Notifications**. See [Email templates](https://wishlist.themivo.com/docs/notifications#email-templates).
- **Theme editor** block names and settings are in English.
